:: Day -01, The List ::

It's early to be getting up for a Sunday morning. I usually work Sunday's and if I really wanted to I could sleep in until 9am and still get to work on time. This morning, though...my 'mental list' was firing up at 5am...because tomorrow is the big day...the beginning of this family's 2019 European Adventure!!!
So here I am, the obligatory pot of gentle Earl Grey tea, two sleeping dogs, a silent house, quite a few jobs to be done, coloured pens and a BLANK page...ready for the list that for me will make sense of my time and priorities on this last day in Christchurch for awhile...wish me luck!! LOL!!

:: Day 02 Airport Adventure ::

Yesterday we took a warm-up flight from Christchurch to Auckland. Today the big trip starts... eventually! Right now we're variously amusing ourselves whilst the mysteries of international air travel are working their magic to reticket our whole trip to Rome. The combination of a 4 hour delay plus an unintentional mistake by a customer service representative (who was trying to sort the problem) created a right royal mess and now we're in a holding pattern...on the ground! On the upside, once the stress subsided, we're all feeling like our adventure is back on track and the miracle worker at the check in counter now has us rebooked.  While we are leaving much later we get to experience the Air Emirates A380!  (Oh, and some meal vouchers from the airline have helped as well 😊)
